Local car dealer boosts first aid offering with new defibrillator

Crown Honda Bushey Heath is pleased to announce the installation of a new defibrillator at its showroom on High Road.

The Honda car dealer has recently enrolled its staff on updated first aid courses which is where 4 staff learnt about the dangers of unknown heart conditions. This prompted the team to ask management to install a defibrillator on site.

Mark Luff, Group Parts Manager at Crown Honda Bushey Heath said: “The idea came to me after attending a new first aid course. I wasn’t aware of all the dangers heart problems can cause and learning about the chances of survival increasing when a defibrillator is available was a real eye opener. It’s so important to spread the word to raise awareness, so we’ve alerted all other retail outlets who will direct anyone in need to our site.”

Tim Dibbs, Company Director at Crown Honda Bushey Heath said: “The team came back from the first aid course determined to help raise awareness and felt we needed to do something proactive. We did some research and found there isn’t a defibrillator at any retail outlets on the Heath and so Crown Honda decided to invest in order to help support the community we serve.

“The state-of-the-art technology utilises an automatic operation with a pre-recorded voice instruction. It adds peace of mind to anyone operating the machine and allows people to do so without the aid of emergency services.”
