What is an SUV?
An SUV is a Sports Utility Vehicle. They’re better at managing off-road driving compared to other types of car, with lots of interior space which means they’re great for carrying equipment.
Originally, the term SUV described cars with rugged styling and off-road capabilities. More recently, it’s been used as more of a catch-all for bigger cars with a more rugged appearance, often with 4x4 capabilities such as the Suzuki Vitara, which comes with ALLGRIP 4WD technology.
What is a Crossover?
Generally, a crossover car pairs the mobility of a hatchback with SUV styling. This means that crossovers are taller than a usual hatchback, and with increased ride height and better visibility. Whilst they look bulkier than your average hatchback, generally they don’t take up much more room on the road.
What is a Hybrid car?
In a Hybrid car, an electric motor assists the petrol engine, which is powered by an extra lithium-ion battery. The petrol engine and the energy stored with-in the lithium-ion battery work together to make the drive smoother and more responsive with improved fuel efficiency. The real benefits of a Hybrid car come from whilst driving in urban areas, in traffic or driving slower, as the battery will generally become the primary source of power, meaning no fuel will be used or CO2 emissions will be emitted. There is no need to plug in a Hybrid car as the battery is charged whilst driving.

What is a Plug-in Hybrid car?
A Plug-in Hybrid car (PHEV) is a Hybrid car with a lithium-ion battery that can also be plugged in to charge. Similar to Hybrid cars, PHEVs have a conventional petrol combustion engine and an electric motor. The battery that powers a PHEV is larger than a standard Hybrid, meaning that it can run on electric only mode for longer, saving even more fuel and emitting even less CO2.
Suzuki offer one Plug-in Hybrid, the Suzuki ACROSS, being able to cover up to 46 miles on zero emission electric only power.
